Frank Ocean - Thinking About You

Thanks to the likes of Frank Ocean (of LA’s Odd Future/OFWGKTA crew) and The Weeknd: 2011 was probably one of my favorite years in recent memory in terms of R&B releases. “Thinking About You” is a leaked track that turned into an indie internet phenomenon with 8+ million views on Youtube. I love the songwriting on this.

Do yourself a favor and check out Frank’s self-released debut mixtape “Nostalgia, ULTRA” from earlier this year too (released on his tumblr in February, amazing).

Oh yeah, Jay-Z and Kanye West (on Watch the Throne) and Beyonce have since enlisted him as a songwriter, no big deal. Looking forward to his full blown debut album on Def Jam in 2012.

The festival always has some surprises up its sleeve, whether it’s DJ AM (RIP) performing in a Daft Punk costume in 2008 or Diplo having Lil Jon as a suprise hype man on stage in 2009. You don’t want to miss this.
